ABOUT THE ROLE
The Construction Plan Drafter at VESTA Design Group plays a critical role in creating as-is models and drafts based on site surveys and project requirements. This position also involves drafting project plans, models, and renders based on design recommendations from the team. These plans not only showcase team proposals tailored to client needs but also serve as detailed guides for the construction process. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Drafting
- Create precise technical drawings using Revit, based on provided sketches and design concepts.
- Draft layouts, elevations, sections, and 3D models for residential and commercial projects.
- Implement feedback from team members and/or Building Department members by reviewing and adjusting plans as needed.
- Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, building codes, and city standards.
Project Coordination
- Collaborate closely with designers to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Manage drafting tasks across multiple phases of a project, from initial as-built plans to final construction documents.
- Communicate drafting needs and updates effectively with team members.
Documentation Management
- Organize and maintain project files to ensure all revisions are accessible and properly documented.
- Prepare plans for permitting, client presentations, and engineering team use.
- Track and document progress to meet deadlines efficiently.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience as a Revit Drafter in the residential and/or commercial projects.
- Proven experience using Revit and AutoCAD(you will be asked to provide a portfolio).
- Strong understanding of residential construction projects.
- Understanding of structural terminology and basic residential construction/structural verbiage.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
- Effective communication skills for remote collaboration with design and project teams.
- Must have own computer (relevant software and subscriptions provided).
- Excellent English verbal and written language proficiency (C1-C2 in CEFR Scale).
- Access to a quiet work area at home with reliable internet (50 Mbps or more).
PREFERRED ("NICE-TO-HAVE") QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience collaborating with architecture or design teams on construction projects.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling software like SketchUp.
- Adobe Suite Capability and/or experience.
- Ability to produce presentation quality 3D renderings using Lumion and/or Revit.
- University degree in architecture, interior design, civil engineering degree, or a related field.
ROLE SPECIFICATIONS
- Base Salary: Q5,000 base salary.

Role type: Part-time (Approximately 20 hours per week).
- Location: Guatemala (Remote - Work from home).
- Schedule: Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
Please note that, although the role type is part-time at the moment, we are hoping for this role to become a full-time role eventually.
RECRUITING PROCESS
- Application / Screening: When you apply for this position, we will ask you a short questionnaire to get to know you a little bit better and ask you for some additional inputs to see if you qualify for the position. In addition, we will ask you to complete a short psychometric evaluation and a short English proficiency assessment. The idea is to explore if this is a good fit before moving forward.
- Skills Assessment: You will be asked to complete a few exercises and/or projects designed to recreate the work tasks that you will be responsible for if you are given the role. This helps us gauge your skill level as well as give you a better idea of the required work.
- Skills Assessment Interview: This is a 60 min - 90 min conversation where we further test your skills, learn about your previous working experiences, and evaluate culture fit to the role and company.
- Hiring Manager Final Interview: This is a 30 min - 60 min conversation with the position’s Hiring Manager (and potentially a few company team members) to get to know you better and to set the expectations and vision for the role.
The entire process usually takes anywhere between 2-4 weeks to complete depending on the seniority of the position.
