Junior Creative Director
ROLE SUMMARY
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Brand Sharks is a content strategy and production company that helps entrepreneurs and brands grow their presence through short-form video and social media content. The company works closely with clients to develop clear messaging, strong content strategy, and high-volume video production systems that drive visibility and engagement online. Brand Sharks partners with founders, creators, and businesses who want to scale their personal brand and digital reach through content. The team focuses on practical execution, strong communication, and delivering consistent results for clients while operating in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Brand Sharks is growing its client roster and building out a creative team to keep pace, and the Junior Creative Director is the entry point into that team. The Junior Creative Director owns the two things that decide whether a client's content works: choosing which video ideas get made, and writing the scripts for them. This is a role for someone who already understands why short-form videos win, has the drive to prove it, and wants a clear path to grow into a Creative Director seat as the department scales.
This position is perfect for someone who:
✅ Has made videos outperform again and again, not once, and can explain the pattern behind why
✅ Lives inside social media, follows creators closely, and notices new formats before they peak
✅ Already knows what a hook, a payoff, and a retention curve are without being told
✅ Has a competitive streak and treats feedback as fuel rather than criticism
✅ Protects long blocks of focused work and gets a lot done inside them
✅ Uses AI tools naturally as part of how they write
WHAT IS IT LIKE TO WORK HERE
Brand Sharks doesn’t just look for experience; they look for alignment. Their culture is built around a set of core values that define how the team operates, makes decisions, and shows up every day. These values guide hiring, promotions, and daily execution. If you feel identified with these values, this position is perfect for you.
✅ Sign Your Name: Take pride in your work and own outcomes. If something is not right, fix it.
✅ Grow or Die: Continuously improve your skills and actively seek feedback.
✅ Janitor = CEO: No task is beneath anyone. Everyone contributes wherever needed.
✅ Customer Obsessed: Always think from the client’s perspective and prioritize delivering value.
✅ Be an Asset: Solve problems independently and bring solutions, not just questions.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Immersion & Research
Good ideas start with knowing the client and their audience better than they know themselves.
Review each assigned client's onboarding materials, brand guidelines, and goals
Study the client's existing page to understand what has performed and what has not
Work from the content strategy set by the Creative Director or founder for each account
Idea Selection
Choosing which videos get made is the highest-leverage decision in the role.
Generate video ideas using client intel from onboarding, formulated through Brand Sharks frameworks, formats, and templates
Mutate proven winners from the client's account into fresh variations that keep what made the original work
Pull supporting ideas from competitor and research sheets when the account calls for it
Decide the topic, format, and hook for every video in the batch
Link every idea to where it came from, whether a winner on the client's page, a competitor video, or a research reference, so the client can see exactly what inspired it
Plan idea batches ahead of schedule so scripting and production never wait on ideation
Scripting
Ideas only matter once they are written into scripts that sound like the client and still perform, and the first 3 seconds decide whether anyone watches the rest.
Write scripts that follow Brand Sharks scripting frameworks and best practices
Write multiple hook options for every script and choose the strongest one deliberately, since the hook carries more weight than any other line
Design the full packaging of each video, including the hook, on-screen headline, and cover text, so the idea lands before the video even plays
Match each script to the client's voice while keeping it built to grow the right followers
Attach the reference link that inspired each script when presenting it to the client, so the source of the idea is always clear
Use the internal AI scripting systems and Claude to draft and refine scripts efficiently
Keep scripts ahead of the production calendar and inside agreed deadlines
Edit Review & Performance Feedback
The person who wrote the script is the one who knows whether the finished video still delivers the idea.
Review edited videos of your own scripts and flag where the edit drifts from what the script intended
Track how published videos perform and identify which ideas and formats are working
Feed what you learn from performance back into the next batch of ideas and scripts
Collaboration & Communication
The creative team moves fast and stays aligned through clear, direct communication.
Answer creative questions from editors and teammates about the reasoning behind a topic, format, or script
Keep files, folders, and naming conventions organized according to company SOPs
Stay responsive in Slack during working hours and communicate blockers early
Although the responsibilities outlined above will form the core focus of your role, please note that your hiring manager may assign additional relevant tasks as needed to align with the evolving objectives of your position and the overall goals of our business.
