ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is essential for expanding the digital presence of Rios Center for Plastic Surgery while supporting growth goals and building brand trust online. The Social Media Virtual Assistant will work closely with Dr. Rios to co-create and implement a clear social media strategy, manage and execute daily posting, create engaging content, and handle online community engagement. This role will enable Dr. Rios to focus on high-value activities while ensuring the practice’s digital voice remains active and aligned with strategic objectives. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGY AND RESEARCH
Supports the development and refinement of a clear social media strategy that aligns with the practice’s goals and messaging. Brings creative ideas and industry insights to strengthen content direction and community growth.
- Co-create and maintain a content strategy with Dr. Rios aligned with growth and branding goals.
- Research key topics, trends, and hashtags relevant to aesthetic and wellness audiences.
- Identify potential collaborations or partnerships with aligned brands and local influencers.
- Track competitor and industry activity for idea generation.
CONTENT CREATION
Transforms raw video and content ideas into polished, engaging posts that align with brand tone and goals. Supports the creation of a visually cohesive, informative, and engaging social media presence.
- Edit videos and graphics using Canva, CapCut, and similar tools for posts and stories.
- Create written captions aligned with brand tone and calls to action.
- Develop post series or educational content aligned with frequently asked patient questions.
- Organize content files for ease of tracking and updating.
SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT AND ANALYTICS
Manages posting, scheduling, and performance tracking to ensure consistency and growth on all active platforms. Uses insights to refine strategy and suggest improvements based on results.
- Schedule and post content consistently across platforms.
- Monitor post and account performance, providing regular reports with actionable insights.
- Track key performance indicators such as reach, engagement, and follower growth.
- Suggest data-driven improvements to enhance content performance.
COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT AND CLIENT COMMUNICATION
Engages with the online community to build trust, answer questions, and identify potential client opportunities. Supports lead generation while maintaining a positive brand experience.
- Respond to comments, direct messages, and mentions in a timely, professional manner.
- Engage with followers and target audiences to encourage interaction and growth.
- Identify warm leads through direct messaging or comments and escalate appropriately for follow-up.
- Maintain a clear and consistent brand voice in all communications.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in social media content creation and management.
- Ability to co-create and implement social media strategy with stakeholders.
- Strong written communication and copywriting skills.
- Proficiency using Canva, CapCut, or similar tools for content creation.
- Comfortable engaging with online audiences through comments and direct messaging.
- Data-driven mindset with an ability to interpret social media metrics.
- Must have own webcam, microphone, and computer (relevant software and subscriptions provided).
- Excellent English verbal and written language proficiency (C1-C2 in CEFR Scale).
- Access to a quiet work area at home with reliable internet (50 mg or more).
PREFERRED ("NICE-TO-HAVE") QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite tools for advanced content creation.
- Experience using ManyChat or similar chat automation tools for social selling.
- Experience with post-scheduling and analytics tools for social media.
- Interest in healthcare, wellness, or the aesthetic surgery industry.
- Experience managing content for a brand or professional practice.
ROLE SPECIFICATIONS
- Base Salary: Q10,000 base salary.
- Role type: Full-time.
- Location: Guatemala (Remote - Work from home).
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM CST.
RECRUITING PROCESS
- Application / Screening: When you apply for this position, we will ask you a short questionnaire to get to know you a little bit better and ask you for some additional inputs to see if you qualify for the position. In addition, we will ask you to complete a short psychometric evaluation and a short English proficiency assessment. The idea is to explore if this is a good fit before moving forward.
- Skills Assessment: You will be asked to complete a few exercises and/or projects designed to recreate the work tasks that you will be responsible for if you are given the role. This helps us gauge your skill level as well as give you a better idea of the required work.
- Skills Assessment Interview: This is a 60 min - 90 min conversation where we further test your skills, learn about your previous working experiences, and evaluate culture fit to the role and company.
- Hiring Manager Final Interview: This is a 30 min - 60 min conversation with the position’s Hiring Manager (and potentially a few company team members) to get to know you better and to set the expectations and vision for the role.
The entire process usually takes anywhere between 2-4 weeks to complete depending on the seniority of the position.
